School visits

I would love to visit your school in person or via Skype and meet your students!

An author visit is an incredible opportunity to connect young readers with the person and process behind the books! With my experience as a teacher and author, I am able to inspire, educate and entertain a wide range of future writers and artists.

Reasons I would be great for your school:

*Experience: I have been a teacher for 16 years. I have taught kindergarten-eighth grades and know how to engage students.

*Values: My books focus on self control, honesty, organization, helping people and making good choices, with humor mixed in to keep things fun.

*Affordable: I am very passionate about educating and inspiring children and want every school to have the opportunity to provide their children with this experience.

*Entertaining: My program is interactive and entertaining. I will tailor it to specific grade levels and will accommodate teachers/schools schedules.

*Presentation: My presentation includes a powerpoint slideshow in which I discuss my background, my journey as an author, the lessons my books teach and how I used the writing process to become a published author.

*Discounted books: While the books normally retail for $17.99, every book sold at a school visit is only $15, with a special multiple book discount! That's less money for me, but more affordable books for students/teachers!

*Cool props: I have parts of my book that I got directly from the printer to bring and show the students.

*Bonuses: I will bring a take away activity for teachers and stickers or bookmarks for students.

*Even better bonuses: I will donate a signed copy of both of my books to your school library!

*Motivation: I will talk to students about not giving up on their dreams and how to achieve their goals.

*Read alouds: I will read one or both of my books to students (time willing).

“Having Stacy come into the room to read her book was such a fun experience for my classroom!  She read the story and described the writing process to the class. Being a teacher, Stacy related very well to the students and was able to connect with them at their level.  The students loved meeting a real author!”  -Shelly N, Kindergarten Teacher

"Stacy shared her love of books with my first graders and they had a great time learning all about the publishing process!  They enjoyed hearing how they can take ideas from real life and turn them into a fun book! They enjoyed their time and learned a lot!" -Michelle G, first grade teacher

"Stacy came to visit my school and it was such a treat!  She shared about the book making process, read her story and even took questions.  It was super cool to have a real life author come visit us." -Michelle R, fourth grade teacher

"Stacy Bauer came to our school and spoke to 200+ second graders about her book, Cami Kangaroo Has Too Many Sweets.  Stacy explained the process of publishing a book in a way that the second graders understood.  Our students were inspired by Stacy's cute story of her own daughter's obsession of sweets. Stacy is an enthusiastic speaker who obviously enjoys being an author and teacher."  -Teresa, second grade teacher

I hope you will consider having me come to your school next year to provide your students with a rich and entertaining experience. I truly enjoy being able to educate and entertain students and help them grow.

**Fees and other details:

I offer:

Full Day visits (1-30 minute presentation per grade level or 2-3 general assembly presentations with multiple grade levels plus lunch with students or staff) *I require 10 minutes between presentations.

Half Day visits (2 general assembly presentations or classroom visits for a half day)

Please contact me for my fees.

**My goal is to work with you on aligning my presentation with your goals, therefore I am open to brainstorming with you on times/formats/length of presentations and specific topics--just ask!

I also do free virtual Skype visits! Please fill out the Contact Me form if you are interested in scheduling a Skype. Skype visits are typically about 20 minutes. I don’t charge for them, but I do ask that you buy at least 10 copies of any of my books—keep 5 for your library or classroom, and give 5 to a neighboring school. During these visits, I'll read one of my books, talk about the book or being an author, and then take questions your class has prepared for me. It's a great way to start a dialogue about books and writing! *I will also offer my books to your students for purchase and personalization.

For further details or to inquire about my availability, please contact me.
